The various committees within the Section of Hospital Medicine were created with the purpose of encouraging professional development, materializing goals and increase provider participation in clinical areas of interest such as Medical Education, Quality Initiatives and Clinical Informatics. Likewise, the Section also recognized the importance of fostering dialogue and commitments to the teams’ well-being by integrating the Wellness, and Diversity and Inclusion committees. Nearly 60% of section faculty participated in at least one committee in the past year. These monthly committee meetings allow us to hold fast the five key P.R.I.D.E values of the University of Chicago Medicine:
